Kia Niro: Front Door / Front Door Module Repair procedures

Replacement
  

Put on gloves to protect your hands.

  

Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces without marring the surface.

Be careful not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.

1.

Remove the front door trim.

(Refer to Front Door - "Front Door Trim")

2.

Remove the front door outside handle.

(Refer to Front Door - "Front Door Outside Module")

3.

Disconnect the front door main connector (A).

4.

Disconnect the outside rear view mirror connector (A).

5.

Separate the rear door module (A) after loosening the mounting bolts.

Tightening torque :

8.8 - 13.7 N·m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf·m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb·ft)

6.

Remove the front door module (A) after disconnecting the front door latch connector (B).

7.

Disconnect the connectors and front door module wiring harness (A).

8.

Remove the front speaker.

(Refer to Body Electrical System - "Speakers")

9.

Remove the front power window motor.

(Refer to Body Electrical System - "Power Window Motor")

10.

Remove the side impact sensor.

(Refer to Restraint - "Side Impact Sensor")

11.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

  

Apply enough grease onto the whole parts.

Make sure that connectors are connected properly and each rod is connected securely.

Make sure that the door locks/unlocks and opens/closes properly.
