Kia Niro: Hybrid Control System / DC Fuse Repair procedures

Removal

Be sure to read and follow the “General Safety Information and Caution” before doing any work related with the high voltage system. Failure to follow the safety instructions may result in serious electrical injuries.

Be sure to shut off the high voltage before doing any work related with the high voltage system(Refer to "High Voltage Shut-off Procedure"). Failure to follow the safety instructions may result in serious electrical injuries.

1.

Shut off the High Voltage circuit.

(Refer to Hybrid Control System - “High Voltage Shutoff Procedure”)

2.

Remove the air cleaner and air duct.

(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air Cleaner")

3.

Disconnect the power cable (A) and inverter power cable (B).

4.

Remove the DC fuse cover (B) after loosening the mounting hexagon head bolts (A).

DC Fuse cover mounting hexagon head bolt :

4.9 - 6.9 N·m (0.5 - 0.7 kgf·m, 3.6 - 5.0 lb·ft)

5.

Remove the seal cover (B) using pliers (A).

6.

Remove the DC fuse (A) after loosening the mounting bolts.
